Somebody asked me the other day what are the things that I like to do? My first answer is the same since I had my first child over 30 years ago- whatever my kids like to do! Today, being a proud grandpa, it’s whatever my grandchildren like to do, I like to do.
The coolest thing about being a grandpa is reliving some of the fun times of being a dad. I’m looking forward to wrestling on the floor, building blocks, reading, play kitchens and tea, swimming, soccer, t-ball, baseball, basketball, music, 4-H, raising pigs, goats, chickens, dogs, horseback riding, boating, water skiing, tubing, camping with friends, dirt biking, riding our bicycles up the mountain in Colorado, future weddings and births.
When I’m not spending time with them, I enjoy doing the following and not in any particular order: golfing, biking, yoga/stretching, target shooting, dirt biking, water skiing/tubing, jeeping, and a nice weekend away with my wife Maryann.
When I’m not here in the very distant future, I want to make sure that I spent my time wisely. I want to leave whatever money is left for their financial security but I know if I don’t leave other gifts, it might not help them as I would hope and envision.
The other gifts?
1. Knowledge and experience
We work really well with individuals and couples that treasure their families like we do.
